UNC Football Will Wear Jordan Brand Next Season

North Carolina announced Saturday night that it will become the second football program to wear Jordan Brand apparel starting next season. The first football school to wear Jordan Brand on the field was Michigan.

The Tar Heels’ successful and storied basketball history spans generations and includes numerous memorable moments like Michael Jordan hitting the game-winning shot for UNC in the 1982 National Championship game.

Now a new chapter in this celebrated partnership begins, as Jordan joined UNC head football coach Larry Fedora at halftime of the Carolina-Duke men’s basketball game to officially announce plans to bring the Jumpman to Kenan Memorial Stadium this fall.

“I’m happy to extend the Jordan Brand relationship not only for the game of basketball but for the game of football,” says Jordan. “I am extremely proud in terms of what Coach Fedora has done for the football team and I think bigger and better things are about to happen.”

“We’re excited to partner with Michael Jordan – the greatest athlete of all-time – to bring the Jumpman into the Carolina football program,” says Fedora. “Michael’s impact on the University of North Carolina and the sports landscape in this state is incredible. Our partnership will bring us a greater association with MJ and his brand on the football field moving forward.”

The new look debuts on-field September 2 during the Tar Heels’ home opener against the University of California Golden Bears.

The adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Zebra” was one of the biggest adidas Yeezy releases to-date. Some even say it took the throne from the “Turtle Dove” release – but that’s a debate for another day.

With the hype so high for the release, during its launch a report of sneaker violence emerged from New York’s SoHo neighborhood. According to DNA Info, five men attacked a man and his friend who had just purchased the “Zebra” Yeezy Boosts.

The victims, both 20-year-olds from Brooklyn, told police that they were approached by the group of young men as they walked on Greene Street, near Spring Street, at about 11:50 a.m. on Saturday.

Some of men in the group asked if they could buy the victim’s new shoes, which he was carrying in a bag, police said.

When the man refused to sell, one of men grabbed the bag, ripping it and letting the sneakers fall to the ground. As the victim tried to pick up the shoes, one of the robbers began to repeatedly punch him in the face — his friend tried to intervene and ended up getting hit as well, police said. The men then ran off with the sneakers.

Police arrested one person, 19-year-old Warren Rose, and charged him with two counts of second degree robbery.

While this violence typically happens more often during Air Jordan releases, it’s now beginning to happen with adidas Yeezy releases due to how extremely hard it is to get a pair.

Sneaker Talk: Air Jordan 11/12 “Countdown Pack”

The Air Jordan 11/12 Countdown Pack was released on December 20th, 2008 and retailed for $310 USD.

This pack included two of Jordan Brand’s most famous colorways with the Air Jordan 11 “Bred” and the “Taxi” Air Jordan 12. Both pairs were worn by Michael Jordan during his second Three Peat with the Chicago Bulls.

On release day, the Air Jordan 11/12 Countdown Pack instantly sold-out, leaving everyone going crazy over the return of the “Bred” Air Jordan 11 – at the time.

As Spring slowly approaches, ASICS continues to give us seasonal-inspired releases like this ASICS Gel Respector Japanese Gardens edition.

Inspired by traditional Japanese Gardens, the retro runner features a predominantly Taupe Grey upper with different hues of Tan and Olive suede. Release Report: What’s Dropping This Weekend

The first week of March offers a bit of a slow set of releases, but as the month really kicks off you can expect to see plenty more for the celebration of Air Max Day.

For Thursday, Nike debuted several colorways of the Air Max 90 Ultra 2.0 Flyknit, followed by the Dam 3 “On Tour” release debuting today, Friday, March 3rd.

Heading into Saturday, which is loaded with several options of releases. To start, Nike brings back the “OG Red” colorway of the Nike Air Max 1 “Anniversary”. Nike debuts Paul George’s second PG1 release. adidas, KITH, and Naked debut their adidas NMD CS2 releases, along with the Three Stripes dropping the “Fear the Fork” adidas Harden 1.

Jordan Brand then closes things out with the return of the Air Jordan 15 OG “Obsidian” and a GS exclusive Air Jordan 6.

Steph Curry Unveils Brand New UA Curry 3Zer0

Under Armour has unveiled the Curry 3Zer0 that will be released via a scavenger hunt with Foot Locker throughout three locations in New York City.

Curry has announced the giveaway via Twitter on Friday. He will be giving clues on where to find the shoes on his Twitter at 10AM EST tomorrow, March 4th. Each pair will be autographed by Steph himself.

According to Under Armour, the White/Gold Curry 3Zer0 will not release in retailers. But you can expect other colorways to debut for the playoffs beginning May 1st. The retail price tag is set at $120 USD.

There are three highly demanded releases of the adidas Ultra Boost that’s part of the adidas Ultra Boost March 2017 lineup set to finally debut.
