Better Self-Lacing Shoe From Nike: HyperAdapt 1.0 or Adapt BB

Following the hype surrounding the Nike Air MAG, which was debuted by Marty McFly in Back to the Future Part II, the Swoosh was finally set to launch their first retail self-lacing shoe.

Nike stepped into the future with the debut of the HyperAdapt 1.0, an innovative sneaker featuring “adaptive lacing” technology that’s activated by a heel sensor that automatically tightens its laces.

For 2019, Nike debuted the Adapt BB, its first-ever self-lacing basketball shoe. The innovative design further advances the motorized lacing system that Nike debuted in the HyperAdapt, and perfects it for use on the basketball court. It also came with a wireless charging system.

Sneaker Talk: Air Jordan 5 “Tokyo 23”

Jordan Brand released a special edition Air Jordan 5 back in 2011 for their Tokyo 23 basketball tournament in Japan.

Dressed in a Varsity Maize, Antracite, Wolf Grey, and Black color scheme. They feature a Yellow nubuck upper with Black and White accents and 3M Metallic tongues. Highlighting shoe is a unique “23” symbol as a nod to the Shibuya Ward of Japan.

Jordan Brand seems to be running out of ideas, resorting to stealing a custom design from FBCC Bay Area. With them hiring other customizers to be designers within the brand, it makes you wonder if ripping off other people’s work will become the norm going forward.

Nike is investing in wind technology in Europe, setting it’s sights to use 100% renewable energy by 2025. This gives a whole new meaning to “Nike Blows”.

JumpmanBostic gives Guru the business AGAIN, putting Guru in the rare position of being on the defensive. JB accused Guru of one of the worse things imaginable, having no jump shot.

And finally, Zion Williams had his sneaker explode during a game against UNC. Now while some people place the blame on Nike’s shoes, the crew blame Duke’s equipment manager for allowing him to play in PG 2.5s. You don’t put Toyota Camry tires on a Dodge Ram and expect it to perform as intended.
