The One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus “Gomu Gomu” turns one of the anime’s most recognizable Devil Fruits into a full sneaker design. The pair is based on the Gomu Gomu no Mi, also known as Nika, with most of the details pulled directly from the fruit’s purple and green appearance.

Purple covers the upper from front to back, while raised swirl patterns run across the shoe to mimic the look of the Devil Fruit. Bright green breaks things up on the laces, tongue, lining, and TPU cage. One Piece branding is worked into the tongue, insoles, and heel without taking over the design.

The packaging gets the same treatment. A special box comes decorated with Nike and One Piece logos, the Straw Hat Jolly Roger, and Gomu Gomu fruit graphics. Themed tissue paper and a Nike Jolly Roger card are also included inside.

One Piece Nike Air Max Plus Gomu Gomu Release Date

Nike is handling the release a little differently depending on the region. In select markets, SNKRS users will need to take part in a poll before September 18 for a chance to get pre-order access. Those selected will be notified on September 18, with pre-orders opening September 25.

China, Mexico, and Australia will have a more traditional release, while Korea is scheduled to receive exclusive access on September 25. The One Piece x Nike Air Max Plus “Gomu Gomu” will retail for $210. Check out the official photos below.
