Nike is bringing the “Mag” theme back again, this time on the Zoom Vapor 12 Hypersmash. The tennis shoe borrows its Jetstream, White, and Photo Blue palette from the self-lacing Nike Mag seen in Back to the Future Part II.

Muted grey handles most of the upper. Photo Blue appears around the support pieces, branding, and sole, with speckled detailing added through the midsole. It keeps the reference clear without making the Vapor 12 look like a straight movie replica.

The heel does most of the storytelling. Decorative light graphics nod to the illuminated panels on Marty McFly’s pair, while the Nike logo on the tongue uses the orange-to-yellow fade associated with the film’s title artwork.

Nike has used their Mag colorway across basketball, skate and lifestyle footwear throughout the years. Placing it on the Vapor 12 gives it a whole new context. The shoe’ s slim profile and technical construction already lends itself to the futuristic theme better than most shoes that have experimented with it in the past.

The Nike Zoom Vapor 12 Hypersmash “Mag” will release during Summer 2026 via Nike.com and select retail stores for $170.
