With all of the news surrounding football in Brasil, it is easy to forget that the South American country is home to much more than phenomenal football. To celebrate Brasil’s abundance of art and culture, Nike Sportswear collaborates with two Brasil-based artists – Flavio Samelo and his wife, Jayelle Hudson – to produce two new iterations of the Women’s Nike Roshe Run and Air Max 1 sneakers.

While photography is their preferred medium, Flavio Samelo and Jayelle Hudson are polar opposites with regards to their subject matter. Samelo focuses on architecture, and in contrast, Hudson’s targets are primarily organic in nature.

Mimicking the premise of the Nike Women’s Tight of the Moment iteration, Samelo and Hudson have combined their work into one creation. The patterns on each shoe are an amalgamation of one architecture photograph from Samelo and one nature shot from Hudson, a black-and-white juxtaposition of the worlds of man and nature.

Heavily featuring the two artists’ work on the uppers, the tonal photographs are offset with bold volt linings and Swoosh accents, and striking black-and-white color blocking.

The Nike Air Max 1 “Pulso Forte” will be available on and at select Nike Sportswear retailers beginning July 11. The Nike Roshe Run “Foco Bonito” will be available beginning Aug. 8.
