LeBron James made his Philadelphia 76ers debut Tuesday night wearing a purple Nike LeBron 24 “Opening Night” PE against the New York Knicks. The Sixers walked away with a win at Madison Square Garden, with six players scoring in double figures, including James. It was his first regular-season game with Philadelphia, and he had a new colorway of his latest signature shoe on his feet.
The Nike LeBron 24 features different shades of purple, with lighter tones across the upper and a darker royal purple covering the collar and lacing area. The colors don’t match Philadelphia’s uniforms, but James has done this before. He opened his final Lakers season wearing the LeBron 23 “24K Gold” and started the 2024 season in a multicolored LeBron 22 PE.
James also wore a special No. 24 patch on his jersey to mark his record 24th NBA season. As for the shoes, the LeBron 24 comes with a three-layer KingKnit upper, full-length React cushioning, and two Air Zoom units. Nike also says it’s the lightest LeBron signature shoe to date.
If you’re wondering when the Nike LeBron 24 will release, the “Stars” colorway arrives November 17th for $200. The “Greater China” pair already dropped in Asia on October 6th, while the Halloween-inspired “Storm Drain” releases October 30th. As for LeBron’s purple “Opening Night” PE, there’s no confirmed release date at this time.
