The Nike LD-1000, a classic originally launched in 1977, makes a comeback this November, bringing a touch of nostalgia to the sneaker scene. Originally designed with a unique flared heel aimed at distance runners, the LD-1000 quickly became a standout. Despite an initial recall over safety concerns, this unconventional design gained a dedicated following, cementing the model’s place in Nike’s history.

Now, the LD-1000 returns in a fresh “Sesame/Team Gold” colorway, exuding a vintage yet timeless vibe. The upper blends Sesame and Team Gold tones, highlighted by Sail Swooshes that bring a subtle contrast to the natural hues. Adding a modern twist, Cosmic Clay insoles provide a pop of color, enhancing the shoe’s retro appeal. The shoe’s construction features a mix of leather, synthetic materials, and breathable textiles, ensuring both durability and comfort. Preserving the original Waffle sole design, this re-release pays homage to the model’s roots while integrating modern updates.

The Nike LD-1000 “Sesame/Team Gold” will release in November 2024 at select Nike Sportswear retailers in-store, online and Nike.com. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price tag is set at $100 USD.
