Before Kobe Bryant’s Nike deal officially comes to an end, Nike Basketball will be releasing a special edition “Mambacita Sweet 16” Kobe 6 Protro colorway as a tribute to Kobe and his daughter Gigi.
Dressed in a Black, White, and Metallic Gold color scheme. This offering of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro features a Black snakeskin textured upper with White laces, Swooshes, tongue branding, heels, and rubber outsole. The snakeskin print is also used on the inner lining. Highlighting the shoe is the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation logo on the heel, along with Kobe and Gigi’s name printed on the left and right shoe, respectively. Gigi’s number “2” is stamped in Gold on the lateral heel completes the design.

Look for the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” to release on May 1st at select retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $180 USD.

UPDATE 4/29: Nike announces that the “Mambacita Sweet 16” Kobe 6 Protro will release on May 1st, which would have been Gigi’s 16th birthday, via Exclusive Access in the SNKRS app.
The shoes will also be available for select Nike members in the Los Angeles area via SNKRS Pass. Nike notes it’s “prioritizing members who have put the Mamba Mentality to work on the court and fans who have followed Kobe and Gigi’s journey from the beginning” for this release. All profits from the “Mambacita Sweet 16” sales will be donated to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
UPDATE 4/27: Nike reveals official photos of the “Mambacita” Kobe 6 Protro. A release date has yet to be announced.
UPDATE 6/3: Following its leak last month, Vanessa Bryant has officially made a statement on the unreleased Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita” colorway. She took to Instagram to address the leaks, explaining that the shoe were intended to honor their daughter, Gigi, with proceeds benefiting the Mambacita Sports Foundation. However, since the Bryant estate and Nike didn’t not re-sign their deal, the shoes were not supposed to be sold.
“Nike has not sent any of these pairs to me and my girls,” Vanessa wrote. “I do not know how someone else has their hands on these shoes I designed in honor of my daughter, Gigi, and we don’t. I hope these shoes do not get sold.”
