Nike Basketball is bringing back one of Kobe Bryant’s most meaningful tributes in 2026. The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Lower Merion Aces” is scheduled to release on March 23, 2026, marking the return of a fan-favorite colorway inspired by Bryant’s high school days at Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. The upcoming drop arrives alongside newly revealed official images.

The original Kobe 5 “Lower Merion” series first appeared in 2010 as part of a special set honoring high school programs tied to Bryant. Two colorways represented Lower Merion, while another two paid tribute to Rice High School in New York, a program Kobe once supported. Among the group, the “Lower Merion Aces – Away” edition quickly became the standout and remains one of the most recognizable Kobe releases connected to his early basketball journey.

For 2026, Nike updates the classic design while staying close to the original look. The sneaker features a Metallic Silver upper paired with a White midsole, while Team Red accents appear on the forefoot, inner lining, and detailing throughout the shoe. A key change appears on the heels, where new graphics celebrate Bryant’s high school legacy. One heel displays a Team Red ace emblem, while the other highlights Kobe’s #33 jersey number, referencing the number he wore during his Lower Merion career.

The release will also arrive alongside additional lifestyle offerings tied to the theme, including two Air Force 1 Low Protro colorways and two Nike Dunk Low Protro editions.
