New York-based designer Melitta Baumeister continues expanding her partnership with Nike Running, this time reworking the performance-focused Pegasus Premium. The upcoming collaboration recently surfaced on Olympic gold medalist Sha’Carri Richardson, who previewed the striking new design ahead of its official release.

The project follows a similar creative direction seen in Baumeister’s earlier orange-toned Vomero Premium reveal during Paris Fashion Week. Known for sculptural fashion and experimental silhouettes, the designer applies that same avant-garde perspective to the running category. The result is a bold reinterpretation of the Nike Pegasus Premium, blending performance innovation with artistic expression.

This version arrives in a vivid Volt, Cyber, Off White, and Noir color palette.
The upper features a deliberately distressed finish, giving the shoe a worn-in, almost industrial character that contrasts with its high-tech performance roots. One of the most recognizable elements is the repeated eye graphic that appears across the design. The motif reflects Baumeister’s signature sculptural approach while adding a surreal visual layer to the futuristic runner.

The collaboration signals a broader push from Nike to merge performance footwear with high-fashion design language. By inviting designers like Baumeister into the running category, the brand continues expanding how technical sneakers can exist beyond athletics and into cultural and creative spaces.
