The Mamba Invitational in Los Angeles gave Nike Basketball another chance to show off what’s next for the Kobe line, including a blacked-out version of the upcoming Kobe 3 Low Protro.
The pair surfaced alongside several other Kobe releases at the event, including the bright green Kobe 3 Low Protro often compared to the “Grinch,” along with multiple Kobe 10 Protro exclusives. Nike has clearly been using the tournament to preview more of its upcoming Kobe footwear.
This Kobe 3 Low keeps things simple with an almost entirely black upper that covers the shortened version of the original Kobe 3 design. A silver Swoosh near the heel provides the main bit of contrast, while the rest of the shoe sticks with the dark look.
The low-top model has been getting plenty of attention lately as Nike continues expanding the Protro lineup beyond some of the more familiar Kobe retros. It also follows the recently revealed Kobe 3 “Orca”, which stays closer to the original high-top shape.
