Nike Basketball is adding another original colorway to its growing Kobe 10 Protro lineup. After the “5 AM Flight” returns in October 2026, the familiar “Blackout” edition is expected to follow in early 2027.
First released in February 2015, the colorway features a deep violet upper with black detailing throughout the shoe. Its nickname was tied to more than the dark appearance, however. Kobe Bryant previously connected the theme to his demanding training habits and the idea of pushing himself until he had nothing left.
That mindset helped make the “Blackout” one of the more memorable releases from the original Kobe 10 run. The upcoming version is expected to stay close to the 2015 design while receiving the updated cushioning and performance changes associated with Nike’s Protro releases.
Official images have not surfaced, but the return suggests Nike has broader plans for the Kobe 10 beyond its initial relaunch. Additional original colorways are also expected to appear throughout 2027.
