Ja Morant’s fourth signature model is taking shape with a much sharper identity, and the Nike Ja 4 “Nightmare” is the clearest sign yet of where Nike is taking his line in 2026.
Set to be one of the first Ja 4 colorways to drop, the “Nightmare” edition builds on the Ja 3’s energy but steers the design toward a more intense feel. The shoe also lands as Morant enters the next chapter of his career in Portland, providing his next signature shoe with a new backdrop leading up to its release.
New in-hand photos provide some details we were unable to get at from previous images. The shoe boasts a textured exterior dotted with raised triangle details, alongside an abstract “JA” graphic and a small Swoosh on the side. The model also appears to have a more defined midsole silhouette for a cleaner look and molded heel tabs for increased structure up top.
A synthetic “A” overlay becomes one of the main design points, stretching from the upper down toward the outsole and wrapping onto the medial side. Underfoot, the outsole mixes smaller triangle traction patterns with a repeating “12” detail, giving the shoe a performance-focused setup built around quick cuts and grip. The Ja 4 is also expected to include ZoomX insoles paired with Cushlon 3.0 foam.
