AJ Dybantsa hasn’t played an NBA regular season game yet, but Nike Basketball is already putting him in a major spotlight.
The No. 1 overall pick of the Washington Wizards helped introduce the Nike GT Future during his college run, and now he’s been spotted wearing another new GT model during Summer League. That shoe has quickly gained attention online, mostly because it looks nothing like Nike’s safer recent basketball designs.
The model is the Nike GT Flight, one of three new Greater Than sneakers expected to debut in 2027. It will arrive alongside the Nike GT Force and Nike GT Uptempo, two models that have not been officially shown yet.
The GT Flight stands out through its oversized molded cage, which wraps across the upper with curved lines that connect into the lacing system. The structure narrows around the toe and heel, giving the shoe a more aggressive shape. Inside, the bootie-style build brings a Huarache-like feel with a snug, sock-style fit.
Nike has not shared full performance details yet, so it is still unclear whether the GT Flight will be marketed toward guards, wings, bigs, or a wider range of players. With Dybantsa’s game built around size, movement, and versatility, the shoe could end up being positioned as an all-around performance model.
Nike GT Flight Release Date
