Nike is leaning back into its experimental side with the new First Sight, and the all-black First Sight Shadow is already shaping up to be one of the model’s strongest colorways. Designed as part of the brand’s women’s lifestyle lineup, the shoe carries some of the bold energy seen in Nike designs from the late 1990s and early 2000s without looking stuck in the past.

Much of that influence comes from Nike’s Alpha Project era. The molded upper has a smooth, sculpted build that brings the Flightposite line to mind, while the black finish keeps the unusual shape from becoming too busy. Raised and recessed details run across the shell, creating an uneven, almost liquid-like texture that gives the shoe its distinct look.

A debossed crosshair divides the forefoot into four sections, with rounded traction pods filling each area underneath. Toward the back, a Swoosh cuts through the heel and extends onto the upper. Wavy tread patterns cover the remaining sections of the outsole, adding another layer to the shoe’s unconventional design.

The Nike First Sight Shadow “Black” will release July 24th at select Nike Sportswear retailers and SNKRS. The women’s exclusive will be priced at $145. Check out the official photos below.
