Devin Booker continues to impress both on and off the court.
During a recent game at Madison Square Garden, he debuted a standout Nike Book 1 PE. Inspired by the original Air Force 1 Mid “NYC Jewel” from 1997, this pair pays tribute to one of Nike’s most beloved city-themed releases.

The Air Force 1 Jewel stood out for its glossy orange Swoosh. It brought a fresh look to the classic white-on-white model. Over time, the Jewel Swoosh found new life on other Nike styles like the Cortez and Air Max 1.
Booker’s PE mirrors that original colorway with careful detail. The upper is dark navy leather. White laces and a clean white midsole offer crisp contrast. A translucent orange Jewel Swoosh adds that signature shine. The forefoot features a small embroidered “NYC” logo, tying it back to the Big Apple.
Despite the Phoenix Suns’ loss to the Knicks, Booker delivered an MVP-worthy performance. He dropped 40 points, with 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Postgame, he handed his signed shoes to Spike Lee in a heartfelt gesture.
Unfortunately, this PE won’t see a retail release. Fans will have to admire from afar.
Still, it’s a great example of heritage meeting modern design. The Nike Book 1 continues to shine as a strong debut model for Booker.
Devin Booker’s NYC-inspired Book 1 PE blends nostalgia and personal style. Though unavailable to the public, it shows the storytelling power of sneakers.
