The Nike Blazy takes the familiar shape of the Blazer Low and pushes it in a much stranger direction. Built as a new lifestyle model, the shoe is shaped around an exaggerated heel that looks heavily worn down, almost as if years of heel drag were molded directly into the sole.
That distorted appearance is expected to be mostly visual. The extended section at the back gives the Blazy its unusual profile, but the internal footbed should still sit normally rather than forcing the wearer into an awkward position while walking.
Canvas covers much of the upper, which uses a different panel arrangement than the traditional Blazer. A standard Swoosh is nowhere to be found. Instead, curved contrast stitching creates the outline of an oversized logo across the side before disappearing near the heel. The toe also appears wider than the narrow shape commonly associated with the Blazer, which could make the new model more forgiving up front.
Two Nike Blazy colorways have surfaced so far. One comes dressed in Sail, while the other pairs a Black upper with White stitching. Both pairs are expected to release August 4th in men’s sizing for $95.
