On May 25, 1991, Ken Griffey Jr. robbed New York’s Ruben Sierra of extra bases with the “Spider-Man” catch. To pay homage to arguably one of the greatest catches in MLB history, Nike will be releasing a special VaporMax Plus inspired by that moment.
This offering of the Nike Air VaporMax Plus comes dressed in a “Freshwater”-like color blocking. The shoe is detailed with Teal accents and Red stitching along the collar along with Griffey’s number “24” on the heel pull tabs. A spider graphic on the insoles with a Gold hang tag completes the design.
