Part of the upcoming Nike Sunburst Pack includes a special edition Air Max 97 that will be paying tribute to one of the brand’s classic logos.

The Sunburst logo was developed in 1972 while considering how to translate the asymmetry of a single Swoosh to apparel. The circular nature of the design allowed for club names to be arched over it — a regular conceit in collegiate and sportswear graphics of the era.

Dressed in a Black, University Gold, and Lucid Green color scheme. This Nike Air Max 97 features a Golden Yellow upper paired with Orange, Red, and Green tones on its wavy overlays. Black textured mudguards atop a White midsole, Yellow Air units, Black and White outsole and the Sunburst logo on the sides, insoles, and outsole completes the design.

Look for the Nike Air Max 97 “Sunburst” to release on August 31st at select retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $160 USD.
