Much like the “Freshwater” pair, Nike will also be bringing back the “Varsity Royal” colorway of the Air Griffey Max 1 in celebration of its 25th Anniversary.

Originally released in 1996, and last seen in 2016 to celebrate Ken Griffey Jr.’s induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

This retro release comes dressed in its original Varsity Royal, White, Volt, and Black color blocking. It comes equipped with a leather and nubuck upper supported by an ankle strap. The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 is completed with visible Max Air units along its sole.

Look for the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 “Varsity Royal” to release on May 28th at select retailers and StockX. The retail price tag is set at $170 USD.
