Nike Cancels 2020 Air Force 1 Low “Puerto Rico” Release

Originally released in 2005, the Nike Air Force 1 “Puerto Rico” will be making a return ahead of the annual Puerto Rico Day parade in New York City, which has been canceled this year due to COVID-19.

Dressed in a True White, Obsidian, and Comet Red color scheme. This “Puerto Rico” version of the Nike Air Force 1 replaces the original Navy Swooshes for White and the lining comes in Navy instead of Red. The Puerto Rico flag appears once again on the heels as well as on the tongues completed with Navy rubber soles and printed insoles with a Green common coquí, a frog native to the island.

Look for the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Puerto Rico” to release on June 26th at select overseas retailers and soon on Nike.com.

UPDATE 6/11: Nike has scrapped the 2020 “Puerto Rico” Nike Air Force 1 release due to the flags on the tongue labels mistakenly placed backwards.

UPDATE 5/26: Nike releases official photos of 2020’s “Puerto Rico” Air Force 1 Low. A stateside launch has yet to be confirmed.
