The Houston Comets, formed in 1997, was one of the original eight WNBA teams and won the league’s first four championships behind the Big Three of Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes and Tina Thompson and coached by the legendary Van Chancellor. To celebrate the historical four-peat, Nike Sportswear will be releasing a special edition Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Houston Comets” colorway to go along a matching Air Force 1 Low.

Dressed in a the Houston Comets colors of the Obsidian, University Red, White, and Wolf Grey. This offering of the Nike Air Force 1 Mid features an Obsidian leather base with matching mesh tongues and inner lining. Red Swooshes with White outline embroidery on the sides with a Red mini Swoosh on the ankle strap. Other details includes the four championship years embroidered on the heels with a four-finger motif on the lateral ankle. A solid White AF1 rubber sole completes the design.
