In the mid 1980s, the Air Force 1 was king of the streets in New York City. Sneaker lovers would take the uptown subway line to the stores where they were sold. That’s when the “uptown” nickname was born.
To honor this legend, Nike will be expanding its latest Air Force 1 Low Upstep lineup by releasing two new renditions of the silhouette.
One comes dressed in Red/White and the other in Black/White. Both features leather uppers with an oversized arrow pointing at the collar as a nod to subway signs, along with White “Uptown” embroidery appearing on the heels. Different graphic insoles on both, while the Black/White pair comes with marble detailed outsole.
Nike Air Force 1 Low Upstep Uptown Release Date
Look for the Nike Air Force 1 Low Upstep “Uptown” Pack to release in women’s sizing on August 9th at select Nike retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $140 USD each.
