Adding to Nike Sportswear’s latest “Plant Dye” collection, the brand reveals an upcoming Air Force 1 that pays homage to Himalayan Rhubarb.
Himalayan Rhubarb extract is a traditional natural dye from the Himalayan mountains between India and Bhutan. The plant grows in altitudes from 3-5000 meters and yields a Deep Golden Yellow color from its rhizomes with an alum mordant.
This Nike Air Force 1 Low features a crips White leather base with dyed canvas Swooshes and rear overlays. The plant is embroidered on the tongues while a descriptive text is printed on the heels. Volt insoles atop a White midsole and flecked cinder outsole completes the design.
