The Nike Air Alpha Force 88, a basketball shoe unveiled in 1988, was crafted by renowned designer Bruce Kilgore, who also created the Air Jordan 1 and Air Force 1.
Though not a commercial triumph, the Air Alpha Force 88 amassed a devoted following among sneaker enthusiasts. Its defining moment transpired in January 1988 when Michael Jordan surprisingly sported a pair of Alpha Force 88s during a game against the New York Knicks. Jordan’s unconventional choice over his signature Air Jordan 3s solidified the shoe’s revered status as a cult classic.
Expanding their retro collection, Nike presents a fresh colorway in White, Neutral Grey, Black, and Tech Grey. This rendition of the Alpha Force 88 showcases a textured leather upper with breathable perforations, while the tongues and side Swooshes feature sleek leather. Additional elements include mesh collars, a distinctive strap, and the iconic “Air Force” logo on the tongues. The design is completed with a herringbone traction pattern on the outsole.
