Millad Mesriani, a cancer patient, recently had the opportunity to team up with Jordan Brand and the NRG team in Beaverton to design his very own exclusive Air Jordan 1.

Shared on his Instagram page with a touching caption reading: “Idk where to start. About 2 years ago, I was diagnosed with a cancer that had never been seen before. Throughout all the physical and emotional suffering, the last thing I wanted was for strangers to feel bad for me just by looking at me. Instead of hiding my bald head under a beanie, I embraced it. I found confidence through my sense of style. As long as I had my new Jordan’s on, everything would be okay. Sneakers and fashion became a way for me to escape the reality of cancer. Now fast forward a few years, I have my own pair of Air Jordan 1s that have never been seen before. This is much more than just a sneaker. To me, this is a symbol of my fight. These sneakers are the literal light at the end of the tunnel.”

Thanks to Make-A-Wish foundation, he was able to bring his Air Jordan 1 to life. Having a “Black Toe” theme the shoe is highlighted with debossed Wings and sword logo on the upper collar and ankle, respectively. 3M Reflective detailing with a Gold Jumpman and Swoosh hangtags completes the design.

While these won’t be hitting retailers anytime soon, you can get a closer look at Millad’s Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG NRG PE below.
