Jordan Brand is elevating Lunar New Year storytelling with the Levi’s x Air Jordan 3 “Year of the Horse” edition. The collaboration blends heritage denim craftsmanship with one of Jordan’s most respected retro silhouettes.

Instead of elephant print, this Air Jordan 3 “Year of the Horse” features faux pony hair overlays across the toe box and heel. Pairing with the Lunar theme, this material change adds a touch of elegance. The upper is wrapped in Sail denim material, reminiscent of classic Levi’s workwear jackets.

Red accents are used strategically so as not to overwhelm the rest of the sneaker. There is a Fire Red heel bumper with white Nike Air detailing. The retro also includes a Levi’s branded hangtag for collectors. Materials used on this Levi’s x Air Jordan 3 tie everything together for a high-end take on a vintage collaboration.

This is the first numbered Air Jordan retro to be part of Jordan Brand’s Lunar New Year collection. Past sneakers from the series have been lifestyle shoes. It makes sense for a Year of the Horse theme to be shared on such an iconic silhouette as the Air Jordan 3.

Two additional Levi’s Air Jordan 3 colorways join this Sail edition. A “Dark Indigo” pair and a “Black Denim” version complete the collection. The trio reflects Levi’s core palette while offering varied styling options.

Compared to the 2018 Levi’s Jordan releases, this edition feels more symbolic. Pony hair texture replaces denim distressing, shifting the focus toward storytelling rather than experimentation. That approach strengthens its long-term collector appeal.
