L’Art De L’Automobile went with olive green and a canvas tongue for its Salomon XT-Quest 2, taking cues from the clothes worn around a mechanic’s shop. The hiking shoe was already built for rough use, and Salomon says the changes are meant to look better as the pair gets worn.

Canvas takes the place of mesh across the main part of the tongue, while rope laces in several shades of green pass through silver metal hooks. Near the outer heel, the leather carries a debossed circular L’Art De L’Automobile logo. The car inside is a Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk1, a small detail that ties the pair back to the automotive label. The familiar hiking sole remains underneath.

The L’Art De L’Automobile x Salomon XT-Quest 2 releases October 28th through lartlart.com. Salomon and select retailers worldwide will follow with a wider launch on November 2nd.
