BSTN is working with Salomon for the first time, putting its own spin on the XT-6 with a colorway called “5 AM.” The Munich retailer has worked with plenty of footwear brands over the years, and this release adds Salomon to that list.

The idea behind the shoe comes from the early part of the morning before the day really starts. BSTN uses different shades of blue across the upper, with darker mesh underneath lighter blue overlays. The “5 AM” name may sound familiar since Nike used the same nickname on the Kobe 10 back in 2015, though BSTN’s pair takes its color inspiration from the look of the sky around dawn.

Most of the added details are fairly subtle. The insoles fade from blue into orange to represent the shift from night into morning, while “Common Ground” text appears near the tongue. White zig-zag stitching on the tongue adds another small change from a standard XT-6.
