Jae Tips, the Bronx-based designer, made waves at Paris Fashion Week. Known for his unique style, Tips surprised the sneaker world with a new project. Following the ProGrid Omni 9 collab, he revealed a fresh take on the classic Saucony Matrix.

The Matrix, a 90s outdoor runner, is making a comeback. Jae Tips is the perfect choice to revive this silhouette. His Matrix design features a vibrant, textured upper. Burgundy dominates the toebox and midfoot, adding a luxurious feel. Tan accents on the toecap, laces, sockliner, and heel overlay soften the bold red.

Green appears on the tongue, sharing space with the Saucony logo on one shoe and Tips’ “Savior” logo on the other. This detail emphasizes the collaboration. The white Saucony logo on the midfoot contrasts the color scheme, while a pink and green midsole and black rubber outsole complete the look.

Jae Tips and Saucony have teamed up before. Their past collaborations, the Grid Azura 2000 “Remember Who Fronted” and the Grid Shadow 2 “What’s The Occasion”, received praise. The new Matrix collab is likely to be just as successful.
