Kobe Bryant’s longtime connection to soccer is showing up again through another FC Barcelona collaboration. This time, the project centers on a Nike Dunk Low Protro and follows the club’s Kobe 4 release and matching kit from 2025.

Soccer was part of Kobe’s life well before basketball became his career. Growing up in Italy gave him an early attachment to the sport, which later influenced releases like the “Mambacurial” Kobe 8. His friendships and ties to Lionel Messi, Barcelona, and AC Milan kept that part of his story connected to his sneaker line over the years.

Early photos of the FC Barcelona x Kobe Dunk Low Protro show a mostly black upper finished with glossy patent leather overlays. Purple panels are worked between the darker sections, bringing in one of the colors most closely associated with Kobe. Additional FC Barcelona and Kobe branding is expected to appear throughout the design, though the first images do not reveal every detail.

A Kobe 3 Low is also reportedly included in the collection, giving the latest FC Barcelona project more than one footwear release.

The FC Barcelona x Kobe Bryant x Nike Dunk Low Protro “Black/Field Purple” is expected to release September 4, 2026, in men’s sizing for $135.
