Diana Taurasi’s Phoenix Mercury Ring of Honor ceremony included a one-of-one sneaker that pulls together pieces from Kobe Bryant and LeBron James’ Nike lines. Vick Almighty made the custom for Taurasi, building it around models connected to both signature collections while working in details from her 20 seasons in Phoenix.

The upper comes from the Nike Kobe Air Force 1 Protro “Barcelona”, dressed in purple, black, and orange to match the Mercury. Vick Almighty also replaced the standard tongue treatment with croc-textured panels embroidered with “DT3” on the right shoe and “White Mamba” on the left, the nickname Kobe gave Taurasi during her career.

LeBron details show up underfoot. The custom uses the midsole and visible Air unit from the LeBron 8 “Lakers,” then finishes the build with an outsole inspired by the LeBron 10 “Lava”.

Taurasi played her entire 20-year WNBA career with Phoenix and won three championships with the franchise before retiring after the 2024 season. The Mercury raised her No. 3 jersey to the rafters during the Ring of Honor ceremony.

This Diana Taurasi Kobe x LeBron custom was made specifically for Taurasi and will not see a public release.
