English Sole recently shared some great new shots of Carmelo Anthony’s iconic Air Jordan 4 “London Olympics” PE.
Commissioned specifically for Melo during the 2012 London Olympics, this player exclusive is deeply rooted in Team USA aesthetics. Consisting of a white leather upper and navy accents throughout the wings, heel tabs, netting, tongue patch and midsole. Stitched red perfectly complements the shoe lending an Olympic feel to the eyelets, inner lining, forefoot midsole and outsole.
However, the gold trim is the most striking aspect of this PE. Embellished with Metallic Gold Jumpman logos embroidered into the tongue and heel. This white-based sneaker was actually one of three Air Jordan 4 PEs made for Melo to commemorate the 2012 London Olympics. This version features a patriotically mixed color palette of white, navy, red, and gold detail.
Anthony’s Olympic record stands as one of the most impressive any American basketball player has ever achieved. Across his four Olympic participations, Anthony earned three golds and one bronze, establishing himself as one of Team USA’s premier international scorers. Special PEs were then made available to mark his career milestones.
Unlike the usual Air Jordan 4 drops, this “London Olympics” version was never actually meant for public purchase. Because of its rarity, special backstory, and Melo significance, it has become more sought after over time.
As of now, Carmelo Anthony’s Air Jordan 4 “London Olympics” PE is not expected to release.
