The ASICS GEL-1130 Mule brings a slip-on update to one of ASICS’ most popular retro runners. Known for its comfort, affordable price point, and tech-inspired look, the GEL-1130 now returns in a mule-style build made for easier everyday wear.

ASICS removes the traditional sneaker collar while keeping the overall shape familiar. The open-heel design allows quick on-and-off access, while standard laces still provide a secure fit across the top of the foot. This gives the shoe a relaxed feel without losing the support expected from the original model.

The Mule also keeps its GEL cushioning underfoot, giving fans of the classic runner a similar comfort experience in a new format. Its mix of mesh, synthetic overlays, and sporty detailing keeps the design connected to the early-2000s running style that made the GEL-1130 popular.

The ASICS GEL-1130 Mule is expected to release May 2026 through ASICS.com and select retailers. The retail price is expected to be $110 USD.
