Both the “Playoffs” and “Aqua” releases are two original colorways of the Air Jordan 8 that debuted in 1993.

The Air Jordan 8 “Playoffs” made its last retro return back in 2013 celebrating the 20th Anniversary of when Michael Jordan wore the shoes against the Phoenix Suns in Game 6 of the 1993 NBA Finals. The win marked Michael Jordan and the Bulls’ first three-peat NBA Championship and gave Jordan his third straight Finals MVP.

That same year during the All-Star Game, Michael Jordan debuted the Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” for the first and only time, and went on to drop 30 points. Before its release during 2015’s Black Friday, the “Aqua” 8s were only retro’d once in 2007.
