The Nike Doernbecher Freestyle program is marking a remarkable milestone, celebrating 20 years of empowering young patients at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital to design their very own sneakers. The program has always aimed to foster creativity while giving these kids a platform to share their stories, and this year’s release promises to be just as impactful.

The six young designers for this year’s collection are Connor, Ja’Kai, Jillian, Quin, Sophia, and Tima. Each designer will release a sneaker that tells their personal story. Their creations give the community a chance to support their creativity and witness their amazing talent.

One standout from the 2024 collection is the Air Jordan 6 “Doernbecher.” This sneaker conveys a heartfelt sense of personalization. The design features heart-shaped perforations throughout, symbolizing warmth and care. Customizable Velcro patches give wearers the freedom to make each pair unique. The shoe also includes striking metallic gold accents. The colorway blends sail, pink, and green tones for a gentle yet eye-catching look.

Air Jordan 6 Doernbecher Release Date

The official unveiling of the Air Jordan 6 “Doernbecher” will take place on October 18, 2024. A wider release will follow during Holiday 2024 on Nike.com. The sneakers will be available in limited quantities, making them highly sought-after.

As in previous years, the proceeds from this collection will support OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Specifically, funds will go towards the hospital’s Area of Greatest Need. This support ensures that the hospital can address urgent challenges and maintain excellence in pediatric care.
