It’s been years since Jordan Brand did much with the Air Jordan 18, but that changes in 2027. The model is set to return with a new “Breaking Barriers” colorway, pairing a familiar black-and-blue base with a graphic treatment you wouldn’t normally see on the 18.

The Air Jordan 18 originally released in 2003 and has barely been part of the retro rotation since. Its return next year will be the first real run for the model in close to a decade.

The “Breaking Barriers” pair keeps most of the upper black, including the tongue cover and heel. Blue is worked into the liner, midsole, and smaller accents, giving the shoe some of the same feel as the original Black Sport Royal.

The front of the shoe is where things change. A flame-like graphic stretches across the toe in blue, green, yellow, and orange, with white stitching tracing around the design. Part of the graphic also carries into the midsole, making it the main detail that separates this pair from the older colorway.

The images shown are mock-ups, so the final retail pair may look different once official photos surface.

Air Jordan 18 Breaking Barriers Release Date

The Air Jordan 18 “Breaking Barriers” is expected to release during Fall 2027 through select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike.com.
