The Air Jordan 4 “Bred” is returning in 2026, and early images of the shoe reveal that this release will revert back to what most consider the classic look of the original sneakers. Unlike the leather uppers utilized on the 2024 “Reimagined” iteration, the upcoming retro revives black nubuck across the upper.
Cement Grey, Fire Red and white accents cover the rest of the usual color blocking. Nike Air branding shows up on the heel tabs and Nike branding also appears on the outsole. This keeps the shoe a bit more true to its original 1989 release.
This colorway has been released numerous times but not all have remained true to the original release. We saw the first retro in 1999, then in 2008 and 2012, both of which featured the Jumpman branding on the heel. Nike Air made a comeback in 2019, and the 2024 pair replaced the nubuck upper with black leather.
The 2026 iteration marks a return to the foundational design, with nubuck and Nike Air branding reunited.
