Better “Black Cat” Release: Air Jordan 4 or Air Jordan 13

Published on

Before Michael Jordan played college basketball in North Carolina, he was nicknamed “Black Cat” by friends. This nickname inspired Tinker Hatfield when designing the Air Jordan 13. It led to the creation of the “Black Cat” colorway, inspired by the stealth of black panthers.

In 2006, the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” was first released and returned in 2020. The shoe’s upper is entirely black with a touch of Light Graphite on the tongue logo. The Air midsole matches the black theme and offers excellent traction with its rubber outsole.

In 2017, the Air Jordan 13 “Black Cat” hit the market, perfectly living up to its name. The upper, made of suede and mesh with a reflective finish, is all black. Rope laces ensure a snug fit, and the hologram logo on the heel adds a classic touch. The shoe provides comfortable cushioning with Zoom Air in the forefoot and heel of the phylon midsole, while the herringbone outsole offers exceptional traction.
