Jordan Brand is ensuring the Air Jordan 11s 30th Anniversary reaches a global market. The Air Jordan 11 “Tokyo” is among nine colorways to pay homage to Japan’s rich sneaker culture.

The Japanese influence is presented with an embroidered white mountain goat on the tongue as a more subdued GOAT reference. As always the sneakers are crafted with high-quality materials such as soft suede on the forefoot, nubuck down the heel, and a grey gradient mudguard. There is also a translucent outsole with championship graphics inside that reference Michael Jordan’s six NBA championships. Little details such as this are always nice to find.

Tokyo’s connection to sneakers dates back decades. From the 2001 Air Jordan 1 “Japan” CO.JP to the 2011 Air Jordan 5 “Tokyo”, the country has long had a hand in Jordan storytelling. Recent landmarks, including the 2023 World of Flight Tokyo store and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment collaborations, show why the city remains one of the most important markets for the Jumpman.
