This Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard” design is inspired by the broken backboard from Michael Jordan’s dunk in a Nike exhibition game played in Italy in 1985.
Jordan Brand is referencing that moment with a special edition Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG edition that sports the colors of the jersey Michael Jordan was wearing while playing in the game.
This “Shattered Backboard” edition of the iconic Air Jordan 1 features a premium leather build dressed in a mixture of Black, Starfish, and Sail color scheme. It also features a graphic insole that references MJ’s Airness, a glass-shattering backboard.

Look for the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Shattered Backboard” to officially release on Saturday, June 27, 2015 in limited quantities unlaced and all. The retail price tag is set at $160 USD.
