Randy Moss was the first NFL player to sign with Jordan Brand back in 1999, and his footwear is getting another look in 2027. Along with the return of his original Jordan Super Freak signature shoe, Jordan Brand has a new Air Jordan 9 “Super Freak” coming out in Minnesota Vikings colors during Super Bowl Weekend.

The Air Jordan 9 features a white leather upper with a black mudguard wrapping around the lower half of the shoe. Varsity Purple appears on the tongue and outsole, giving the pair a familiar Vikings look. One of the more interesting details is the “Twenty 3” branding on the tongue ribbon, a reference to Moss’s original signature model. Moss wore player-exclusive Air Jordan 9s and 13s early in his Jordan Brand career, though this new colorway doesn’t appear to be a direct copy of his original PE.

The Jordan Super Freak is also returning in 2027. First released in 2000, the model was named after Moss’s high school nickname and later made a brief comeback in 2010 under a different name. This time, Jordan Brand is bringing back the original Super Freak name. It’s still unclear whether the retro will feature Moss’s No. 84 jersey number from his Vikings days.
