Air Jordan 1 High OG “Royal” 2026 First Look

Official retailer images have finally revealed the 2026 Air Jordan 1 High OG “Royal”, giving us the clearest look yet at the upcoming return.

The original colorway last appeared in 2017, and its next release will stick with the standard High OG shape. That may surprise anyone expecting Jordan Brand to bring every classic Air Jordan 1 back in the more historically accurate ’85 cut. Recent samples displayed at the Michael Jordan Building only added to that belief, but the “Royal” shows the brand is not following one format for every OG colorway.

Based on the photos, the 2026 pair looks close to the version most fans already know. Black leather covers the base, while Varsity Royal lands on the toe box, Swooshes, ankle panels, and heel. The blue sections appear to have a heavier tumbled finish, with leather that may be slightly thicker than what was used in 2017.

Color can be difficult to judge through retailer photography, but the Royal Blue also looks a little brighter in these images. A white midsole and blue rubber outsole complete the familiar blocking.

Air Jordan 1 demand has cooled from its peak, though original colorways still carry more weight than most general releases. The “Royal” remains one of the model’s defining looks, so availability could depend heavily on how many pairs reach stores.
