Teyana Taylor first debuted her collaborative sneaker with adidas called Originals Harlem Good Luck Charm (GLC) back in February. The success from the adidas Originals Harlem GLC was enough to release a second collaboration which was set to drop this past November.
While November came and went there was no release of a second sneaker. The result for that was after an altercation with Rihanna over a spoof video of her singing (making fun of Taylor), words were exchanged from the two artists. After Taylor took it further and posted an offensive picture of Rihanna’s face after her assault from Chris Brown in 20009, adidas was forced to drop the G.O.O.D. music artist.
Senior VP at adidas gave out this statement on the matter:
“We have ended our relationship with Teyana Taylor and do not have any upcoming product launches with her. All I can say is that adidas partners with athletes and artists who blend well with our brand values. We evaluate our relationships with partners based on the values we hold at adidas and we don’t condone violence of any kind.”
