A Ma Maniere Adds Swoosh To Their Converse Chuck Taylor 70 “While You Were Sleeping”

James Whitner and A Ma Maniere have once again redefined collaboration, unveiling an exclusive Converse Chuck 70 as part of their innovative “While You Were Sleeping” collection. Revealed during a pre-premiere event for the collection’s film, this Chuck 70 delivers a unique design ethos that merges classic aesthetics with modern storytelling.

The sneaker stands out with embroidered branding on the lateral quarter and a distinctive split-textured midline, embodying A Ma Maniere’s attention to detail. Neutral cream tones dominate the canvas upper, while burgundy piping along the midsole adds subtle contrast. This understated yet impactful palette matches the cream-and-burgundy Air Jordan 1 box packaging, a thoughtful nod to the collection’s cohesive design narrative.

What makes this release groundbreaking is its status as the first official Converse Chuck 70 to feature a Nike Swoosh since Converse became part of the Nike family. While custom designs like Chinatown Market’s 2018 rendition and Virgil Abloh’s conceptual “The Ten” version have toyed with this idea, A Ma Maniere’s creation solidifies the union between Converse’s heritage and Nike’s influence.

Unfortunately, the A Ma Maniere x Converse Chuck Taylor 70 is a highly limited family-and-friends exclusive. With only 1/50 pairs available in the UK and 1/100 in the US, the sneaker represents both rarity and artistry.

Whether this collaboration marks the start of a broader trend or remains a unique piece of history, it’s undoubtedly a standout moment for Converse, Nike, and A Ma Maniere.
