Sneaker Talk: Air Jordan 12 “Game Royal”

As part of Jordan Brand’s Fall retro lineup, the Air Jordan 12 “Game Royal” first hit shelves in September 2019, presenting the iconic silhouette with a striking two-tone design inspired by traditional AJ12 colorways.

Black tumbled leather dresses up most of the upper, allowing Game Royal to stick close to the “Flu Game” formula without tapping into Varsity Red. Swapping colors with the original, Game Royal dominates the mudguard, outsole, heel details and branding hits.

Created by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 12 was originally released in 1996 and gained popularity for its hard construction, full-length cushioning feel, and high quality leather. The “Game Royal” edition maintains that same rugged profile.

The colorway also ties into Jordan Brand’s lengthy history of understated yet great black-based retros. By replacing red with royal, this sneaker gives you an alternative look while maintaining the high contrast that made the original AJ12 releases so iconic.

For those still looking to add the pair to their rotation, the Air Jordan 12 “Game Royal” is available now on resale platforms such as StockX.

Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 “Sue Bird” PE Releases July 2026

The Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 “Sue Bird” PE is an official release for Fall 2026. A sneaker that Bird wore during her 2004 championship with the Seattle Storm, it’s one of her most iconic kicks from a storied career.

Donning White, Deep Forest, and Canyon Gold, the colorway expertly embodies the Storm’s classic look. That fresh combination of leather, shiny overlays and metallic trim feels even more special now knowing it was worn by Bird during her first championship — and will forever grace her bronze statue outside Climate Pledge Arena, which even features the “BIRDY” stitched along the ankle strap.

The Huarache 2K4 has always been a Basketball icon under Nike. Legends like Kobe and Penny Hardaway have been linked to the silhouettes through their careers. It makes sense for one of the greatest players of all time to also be associated with the legacy that Bird has built over her career. That’s the kind of storytelling sneaker culture thrives on.

Clove Toy Story Collection Releases June 17th For Healthcare Workers

With its first-ever collaboration in the Disney realm, Clove presents a Toy Story sneaker collection, thoughtfully created for hospital workers. The Philly-based brand collaborated with Disney and Pixar for four character-themed pairs inspired by Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and the Alien.

The Clove x Toy Story collection will be available starting June 17th on Clove’s website and through various retailers. Every shoe utilizes Clove Supercush Forte 2 as the foundational silhouette, offering a work-ready collection instead of your traditional lifestyle sneaker offerings.

The Supercush Forte 2 is designed with an easy-to-clean upper, cushioning made for long shifts, and slip resistance certified to ASTM F3445 standards. So while the Toy Story theme brings the nostalgia, the shoes are still made for nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals who are on their feet all day.

Woody and Jessie duos focus on western embellishments, cow paneling, vibrant pops of color, and tons of personality. Buzz Lightyear and The Alien takes borrow brighter colors associated with space, such as greens, blues, purple and white tied into their Pixar characteristics.

Having character-themed shoes in a children’s clinic can really help ease the tension for young patients. They give healthcare professionals something friendly and recognizable to wear during visits. For Disney fans, they provide a lighter option to footwear that typically consists of neutral colors and prioritizes practicality.

Joe Ammon, founder and CEO of Clove said healthcare workers have been left out when it comes to both product design and culture. He said the brand hopes to give their community that same hype usually reserved for collabs with big sneaker brands.

Pixar fans can now step into the latest Toy Story adventure while on shift thanks to Clove’s latest sneaker collaboration. The Clove x Toy Story collection offers healthcare workers fun footwear without compromising on quality or comfort. Clove’s four Shoe of the Toy Story collection will be available June 17th on Clove’s website and at select retailers.

Nike Mind 001 Releasing With An All-Black Build

Arriving in Fall 2026, the Nike Mind 001 “Triple Black” brings a darker, more wearable look to Nike’s experimental lifestyle model. The shoe will be available in unisex sizing through Nike.com and select retailers, both online and in-store, for $95 USD.

Black foam covers the full build, including the columned side panels, smooth upper, and perforated tongue. With no contrast colors breaking things up, the shape does most of the work here. The raised side structure, molded textures, and unusual footbed setup stand out in a quieter way.

Nike keeps the Mind 001’s 22 underfoot nodes in place, but finishes them in black to match the rest of the shoe. That makes the feature feel more tucked into the design rather than highlighted as a separate detail.

Branding also stays low-profile. Instead of the metallic silver Swooshes used on many Nike Mind pairs, this “Triple Black” version adds pressed-in logos on the tongue and barely visible vertical Swooshes along the lateral side.

The Nike Mind 001 “Triple Black” still has the futuristic look that defines the model, but the all-black finish makes it feel easier to wear. For a shoe built around an experimental concept, this may end up being one of the more approachable colorways from the line.

Air Jordan 5 “Black/University Blue” Returns June 2026

UPDATE 6/6/26: Official images of the Air Jordan 5 “Black/University Blue” have been released. The 2026 retro features a black nubuck upper, university blue accents, reflective tongue, contrast stitching, and icy translucent outsoles. It releases on June 20, 2026 retailing for $220, available in family sizing.

Original Story 10/7/25:
The Air Jordan 5 “Black/University Blue” was originally released in 2006 as part of the original Lifestyle (LS) series and is set to officially return in Summer 2026 celebrating its 20th Anniversary. This Air Jordan 5 has become one of the most sought after colorways from the series for its clean, collegiate-inspired color palette and quality materials.

Featuring nearly the exact same design as the OG, this retro is composed of Black nubuck uppers accented by bold splashes of University Blue and White paint. Signature 3M reflective tongues, translucent mesh side panels and contrast stitching that draw attention to the Air Jordan 5s built up details. The University Blue lining and embroidered heel will also get a pop of “UNC” style color Jordan fans are used to.

While “Black/University Blue” is loved in its own right, in the mid-2000s, it released during the LS era in which Jordan Brand began the strategy of launching limited sneakers with corresponding apparel and exclusive pieces. This association with clothing is part of what has made the colorway so legendary over the years, especially amongst collectors who missed the opportunity to own a pair when it was originally available for such a limited time. The 2026 retro continues the sneaker company’s recent pattern of dusting off classic mid-2000s releases, including but not limited to “Burgundy” and “Green Bean”.

Details like the icy translucent outsole, lace locks and OG-style packaging complete this trip down memory lane that honors its 2006 roots. It’s a winning formula: heritage, quality materials, and a color balance that is both timeless and fresh.

Air Jordan 1 Mid Celebrates Brazil Ahead of 2026 World Cup

Jordan Brand will release the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Brazil Football” in Summer 2026, just as the 2026 World Cup brings global attention back to the sport. The pair ties into Jordan Brand’s connection with Brazil’s Away Kit, but it keeps the football theme more subtle than expected.

An off-white upper gives the shoe a low-key look, leaving most of the story to the smaller details. The tongue label uses Nike Football-style branding, a detail that links this Mid to the soccer-inspired Jordan 1 Low that surfaced with similar boot-influenced cues.

Padded quilted panels around the collar add texture while nodding to older goalkeeper jerseys, which often used protective padding in key areas. That detail gives the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Brazil Football” a more considered feel without relying on Brazil’s green and yellow colors.

The strongest Brazil reference appears on the insoles. A colorful graphic shows Swoosh and Jumpman-branded football boots striking a ball with “GOAL” in the background. Jordan Brand used the same artwork on a boxy Brazil graphic T-shirt when its partnership with the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol was announced in March.

No official Brazil crest, player callout, or Vinícius Júnior branding appears on the shoe. Instead, Jordan Brand lets the timing, football logos, quilted build, and insole artwork carry the connection.

Napheesa Collier x Jordan Heir 02 “Napheesa Collier” Offered In Lynx Colors

We’ve got another Jordan Heir Series 2 drop, this time featuring Napheesa Collier and it brings a Minnesota Lynx take to the women’s basketball model while sticking to her team colors rather than something bolder.

Green and blue stretch across the upper in a gradient pattern that gives the shoe some instant Minnesota Lynx connection. From there, the TPU-heavy construction adds some stiffness to the design, highlighted by mint green tongue branding for a pop of color amongst the darker palette.

This colorway helps give the Heir Series 2 some personality as the silhouette itself is still fresh. Jordan Brand has been ramping up efforts around women’s basketball as of late and releases like these help make the sneaker feel more intertwined with the players pushing that initiative forward. Collier fits that mold nicely, especially considering she’s one of Jordan Brand’s premiere WNBA talents.

The Napheesa Collier x Jordan Heir Series 2 is slated to drop Fall 2026 via Nike.com and selected Jordan Brand retailers. Expect the shoe to arrive in women’s sizes and retail for $115 USD.

atmos Pink x adidas Handball Spezial Denim Pack Releases June 12th

atmos Pink is bringing distressed denim into the adidas Handball Spezial lineup with two women’s pairs releasing June 12, 2026 through atmos.

The collection skips the standard Handball Spezial and instead works with two modified versions of the terrace favorite. One pair uses the adidas Handball Spezial LT, giving the long-tongue silhouette a darker denim build with frayed edges and a broken-in finish

The adidas Handball Spezial Low Pro takes the same denim idea in a lighter direction. This pair sits lower to the ground, with a slimmer sole that feels closer to adidas’ recent Japan, Tokyo, and Taekwondo-inspired models. Frayed detailing shows up around the tongue and eyestays, while the heel and mudguard add a patchwork-style finish.

Denim sneakers can easily feel like a basic material swap, but atmos Pink gives these pairs more personality through the raw edges and layered construction. It fits the current adidas wave too, where slim terrace and martial arts-inspired silhouettes continue to gain traction.

The atmos Pink x adidas Handball Spezial Denim Pack releases June 12th via atmos. A wider adidas release has not been announced.

Nike Total 90 III “Brazil” Releasing For The 2026 World Cup

The Nike Total 90 III “Brazil” is expected to release in Summer 2026, with early reports pointing to June or July. Nike has not announced the pair yet, though the timing lines up with the World Cup window. If released as expected, pairs should be available through Nike and select retailers.

Metallic silver covers the forefoot, giving the shoe that familiar Total 90 shine, while bright blue wraps the midfoot and heel. Yellow Swooshes and oversized “90” branding bring in the Brazil feel without relying on any official team marks.

Nike’s early-2000s football archive is doing a lot of the work here. The Total 90 line already carries strong nostalgia from that era, and this colorway leans into it with a palette tied closely to Brazilian football style.

The lifestyle build keeps things close to the indoor-inspired version of the model. You still get the low-profile shape, black forefoot outsole, and white midsole section, but the overall feel is more terrace sneaker than performance boot.

World Cup timing, Brazil-coded colors, and a recognizable Nike Football silhouette give the Nike Total 90 III “Brazil” a clear hook for Summer 2026.

New Balance 990v4 “Pumpernickel/Pink Chalk” Brings Rich Brown Suede To Summer 2026

The New Balance 990v4 “Pumpernickel/Pink Chalk” will launch at NewBalance.com and select retail outlets for $185.

Dark brown reigns supreme here as Pumpernickel covers the mudguard, eyestays, heel, and overlays along the bottom of the shoe. It’s also used on the shoe’s laces, midsole and outsole. Using brown as a base anchors the shoe down a bit giving it some weight to offset all of the pink on display throughout the upper.

Pink Chalk hits the toe box, tongue, collar, and panels along either side of the shoe. Matching overlays weave through the forefoot and midfoot sections while Alabaster is used on the shoe’s lining and trim for a softer vintage feel. Gold accents on “N” logos and branding complete the look with just enough pop of color without going overboard.

The silhouette sports all of the trappings we love about the 990v4 formula. The layered paneling is present, as are the “990” heel branding, New Balance branded tongues, and Made in USA labeling. The colors differ, but the allure is all too familiar.

Nike Air Rift Flowers Gives The Split-Toe Sneaker A Black Floral Makeover

The Nike Air Rift “Black Flowers” brings the 1996 split-toe design back with a darker women’s lifestyle look expected for Summer 2026.

Black leather gives the upper a sharper feel than the sporty builds usually tied to the Air Rift. The shape still does plenty of the work. Its tabi-style forefoot, strap system, and low profile keep the model instantly recognizable, even with the more dressed-up finish.

Patent-style overlays add a slight shine across the straps, while velvet-like trim around the collar and split-toe area softens the edges. It is not a huge redesign. Nike mostly changes the mood here, pushing the Air Rift closer to a casual fashion piece without hiding its oddball roots.

Leather flower appliqués sit across the vamp and lateral ankle, both kept tonal against the black base. Metallic bead centers add a small hit of detail, and the white embroidered Swoosh near the toe gives the shoe its clearest contrast.

The Nike Air Rift “Black Flowers” is expected to release Summer 2026 via Nike.com and select retailers.

It is still one of Nike’s stranger silhouettes, but this version gives the Rift a sharper blacked-out look without losing the weird shape that made it stand apart.

Nike Air Force 1 Low Woven Goes Bold in “Tough Red”

Nike has another woven Air Force 1 Low lined up for 2026, and this one does not ease into the color story. The Nike Air Force 1 Low Woven “Tough Red” uses a full red build while giving the classic AF1 upper a more open, breathable feel.

Tough Red handles most of the shoe, covering the overlays and the woven sections across the toe box, tongue, and midfoot. That open-woven material is the main update from a standard leather Air Force 1, adding texture without changing the low-cut shape people already know.

Team Red gives the pair a darker break on the Swooshes, tongue branding, heel logo, and sockliner. It is not a huge contrast, but it keeps the design from looking flat. Nike also keeps the metallic AF1 lace dubrae at the forefoot, which helps ground the pair with one of the model’s familiar details.

A matching red sole unit finishes the sneaker and keeps the look locked in from top to bottom. Nike’s woven AF1 run has mostly been about small construction changes rather than full redesigns, and this “Tough Red” colorway fits that approach.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low Woven “Tough Red” is expected to release in 2026 through Nike.com and select retailers. A release date, price, and style code have not been confirmed.

New Balance 992 “Shadow Grey” Releases With Turtle Dove Accents

The next New Balance Made in USA 992 release drops Summer 2026. Retailing at $200, it will release digitally through NewBalance.com and at select retail partners.

The New Balance 992 here features a Shadow Grey, Turtle Dove and Black color scheme throughout the silhouette’s layered runner-inspired design. Cream-colored mesh is layered under the shoe’s upper, giving some breathing room between the darker panels instead of being an overly dark shoe. Grey suede and nubuck accents hit the toe box, mudguard, and heel while black overlays are placed on the forefoot, eyestays, tongue, and collar.

White stitching helps separate the overlays from one another on the black sections while a cracked leather-inspired texture on the darker midfoot panels are the standout detail of the shoe. It provides contrast to the softer suede and mesh upper while still fitting well with the overall look and feel of the shoe.

Turtle Dove accents can be found on the sock liner-style mesh and crevice-less midsole. White provides brightness through the shoe’s laces and “N” logo while reflective-style New Balance branding can be spotted on both the tongue and heel. Made in USA branding is found on the heel tab as well.

The New Balance 992 “Shadow Grey” continues chunky midsole theme with cream, grey, and darker details while showcasing visible ABZORB SBS pods in select areas. A dark grey and black outsole caps off the shoe, letting the design’s texture and layering take center stage.

Nike Air Max Joga Bonito “R9” Releases July 2026

Nike plans on merging football history with Air Max silhouettes once again with the release of the Nike Air Max Joga Bonito “R9”. Taking inspiration from Ronaldo Nazário’s classic 1998 Mercurial R9 boots, the upcoming hybrid will adorn Sergio Lozano’ Air Max 95 sole unit.

Via @brandon1an on X, the first colorway comes in Metallic Silver, Varsity Maize, Varsity Royal and Black. The colorway’s resemblance to R9’s celebrated Mercurial boots is sure to spark recognition among dedicated football fans. The upper certainly channels that early Nike Football bravado while adding a bit of lifestyle flair with the use of Air Max 95 tooling.

The name “Joga Bonito” translates from Portuguese to “play beautifully.” Nike made the phrase famous during its mid-2000s football campaign, which celebrated creativity, skill, and the Brazilian style of play. Stars like Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Thierry Henry, and the Brazil national team helped make the campaign one of Nike Football’s most memorable eras.

The Nike Air Max Joga Bonito “R9” will debut July 2, 2026 to coincide with the 2026 World Cup. With a $180 price tag, expect to find these on Nike.com and through select retailers. More color options for this new design are anticipated to drop down the line.

Coca-Cola adidas Collection Ramps Up For 2026 World Cup

Coca-Cola and adidas Originals are linking again with a soccer-focused collection built around the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The partnership goes back to their 2002 FIFA World Cup project, and this new release connects naturally to next summer’s tournament in North America, especially with Atlanta listed as a host city and Coca-Cola headquartered there.

The footwear lineup covers several adidas silhouettes instead of leaning on one hero model. Two Samba OG colorways lead the range, including a white leather pair with red laces and co-branded tongue branding. A second Samba takes the louder route with a red jacquard upper covered in repeat Coca-Cola script.

Superstar II fans get two options as well. One version comes in black with a translucent mint outsole, while another uses cream leather with oversized “Enjoy Coca-Cola” branding across the lateral side. The collection also brings in the Adistar Control 5, styled after the classic red Coca-Cola can, and a silver Predator Sala inspired by Diet Coke. Both feature a bubbling droplet texture across the upper.

The Megaride F50 adds a different reference point, mixing white and silver with bottle-green accents that nod to vintage Coca-Cola glass bottles. Apparel expands the theme with branded jerseys, red shorts, denim track pieces with removable details, cropped jerseys, flared pants, and matching tops.

Lamine Yamal fronts the “Originals are the Real Thing” campaign, which follows a group waiting for a bus to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Nike SB P-Rod 1 “Dodgers” Releases June 2026

Nike SB is bringing Dodger Blue to the Paul Rodriguez’s P-Rod 1 with a summer-ready “Dodgers” colorway. The Nike SB Paul Rodriguez Zoom Air Low “Dodgers” is scheduled to release June 12, 2026 through Nike and select skate shops for $135 USD in men’s sizing.

The pair keeps its baseball inspiration straightforward without overloading the design. Light grey covers the toe box and side panels, while a darker shade wraps the toe cap, eyestay, and heel. That neutral setup gives the blue accents room to pop across the Swoosh, tongue branding, sockliner, and Nike logo on the heel.

Contrast is brought below with a white Zoom Air midsole and semi-translucent grey outsole that ties everything back to Nike SB’s skate DNA. Meanwhile, the colorway itself is a subtle shoutout to Paul Rodriguez’ longtime connection to Los Angeles, with the Nike SB legend having previously debuted the pair while wearing them during the Dodgers championship run.
