Nike SB continues pushing beyond the SB Dunk series by reworking other heritage silhouettes with skate-ready updates. One of the latest examples is the Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Air Force 1 Low, a collaboration that blends skate culture with one of Nike’s most influential basketball models.
The design pulls clear inspiration from the original 1982 Air Force 1, the shoe that first introduced Nike Air cushioning to basketball. Yuto Horigome’s version honors that history while adding subtle personal touches throughout the sneaker.
The upper features a clean mix of off-white leather and grey mesh panels. Grey Swooshes and padded collars provide contrast while keeping the palette neutral. Meanwhile, a slightly aged midsole reinforces the vintage theme and nods to early Air Force 1 releases.
Signature details help define the collaboration. The lateral midsole retains the classic “AIR” branding, preserving the shoe’s original identity. On the medial side, Nike SB adds a molded “YUTO” stamp, giving the design a personal element tied directly to the Olympic gold medalist.
Additional branding appears throughout the sneaker. Horigome’s feather logo lands on the heel and insole, while the tongue tag features co-branded Nike SB and Yuto Horigome graphics. The heel tab also includes a “7” graphic with a red Swoosh, adding a small pop of color against the otherwise muted design.
Beyond its visual details, the shoe remains built for skating. Nike SB slightly reshapes the Air Force 1 for better board feel, while extra padding around the collar improves comfort and durability during skate sessions.
