Taiwanese baseball star Chen Jiexian has his own Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” cleats, made specially for him as part of Jordan Brand’s 30th anniversary celebration of the movie. The purple cleats look similar to the pair that’s getting a retail release, but Chen’s version uses a different sole made for baseball.
The cleats feature a matte purple upper with the familiar Air Jordan 11 shape, while the bottom comes from Nike’s Alpha Huarache Elite baseball line. That means Chen gets the look of the Jordan 11 with the spikes needed for playing on the field.
The Air Jordan 11 has been around since Michael Jordan’s 1995-96 season with the Chicago Bulls and became even more popular after appearing in the original Space Jam movie. Most people remember the black and white version from the film, but this anniversary pair goes with purple throughout.
The Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” purple cleats are expected to receive a public release, although a date hasn’t been announced. Chen Jiexian’s special Alpha Huarache Elite version was made exclusively for him and isn’t expected to release.
