Devin Booker Debuts Nike Book 2 “Mexican Blanket” During NBA Preseason

Devin Booker is already putting new Nike Book 2 colorways on the court before the NBA regular season gets underway. During preseason action, the Suns guard was spotted wearing a “Mexican Blanket” pair that hasn’t been seen before.

The Nike Book 2 “Mexican Blanket” gets its name from the colorful striped pattern covering the shoe. Its mix of warm shades is inspired by traditional Mexican sarape blankets, while the theme also fits with the large Mexican community in Arizona, where Booker has spent his entire NBA career.

A similar look has appeared in Kobe Bryant’s signature line. The Kobe 8 NSW “Mexican Blanket” used a multicolor woven design with many of the same warm shades, giving Booker’s latest pair another connection to the Kobe line that has influenced his sneaker taste over the years.

Booker has worn several Book 2 colorways ahead of their wider rollout, so it’s still too early to know whether this pair will eventually hit stores or remain one of his player exclusives. A release date has yet to be announced.
