Sha’Carri Richardson is getting a custom Nike Atelier collection for Athlos A26 in London, with the city’s wet weather playing a big part in the design. Reflective finishes, worn textures, and Swarovski crystals are used throughout the collection to recreate the look of London after it rains.
The Nike Vomero Premium is easily the wildest piece from Richardson’s collection. Grey fleece covers the entire sneaker and continues up the leg past the knee, giving the runner the appearance of one long sock-like boot. Swarovski crystals are placed across the fleece to mimic water droplets, while the exposed Zoom Air units underfoot have also been finished with a reflective look.
Richardson’s apparel follows the same direction, including a reflective Nike Atelier jacket covered with hand-set crystals. She also gets a FlyWeb bra that was computationally designed around fit and support. A small duffel bag made in Japan rounds out the collection, using crackled leather along with oversized charms tied to Richardson and her track career.
Nike Atelier was introduced earlier this summer with designs that leaned heavily into football and luxury fashion. Richardson’s Athlos A26 collection takes the series in a much different direction, showing how Nike can build each Atelier project around the athlete rather than sticking to one set design style.
